Lesson 5: Unit 20 LO1 1.2 Target Audience. (Segments) P239 -24

Come into lesson for register.

Read all information set on blog page (link below) and transfer it into your exercise books.

Titles, date, Highlight headings. subheadings and draw up charts.

Watch and read the link to https://www.kameleoon.com/en/blog/segmentation-audience . The information puts into practice what you have just drawn and written down.

Write down the key terms and highlight.

In the second hour of lesson complete the 'Can you sell a tin of BEANS' activity. Read activity carefully and complete in full. 
This will be a power point presentation with at up to 10 slides.

Based on last weeks' lesson the Target Audience/ segment information.
I will be looking for:
  1. A survey to build your profile audience
  2. a list of key characteristics of your group, age, gender etc
  3. the creation of a brand image for your BEANS, designs, comparisons with what is on market, logo, fonts, colour scheme, tin size, slogan etc
  4. a presentation to show all of the evidence
We will all then rate the presentation out of 5 using the above criteria.

Unit 20 Advertising. LO1. 1.1. Lesson 2 & 3 (including completion for homework)

In your Unit 20 Advertising Power Point or Word Doc you are to put todays' date and the title 'Aims of Advertising Campaigns' and complete the following:

A.

Whilst watching and listening to the above presentation video you must write down the 23 various types of appeal and keep these in mind when completing the main tasks. (click title to view video):

Now you are to create three A4 size mind-maps of three different products that have memorable UK adverts. (one audio, one print and one audio-visual).
On your mind maps list:
  • title of advert, product
  • the campaign narrative (what you think it is about/ storyline),
  • media of advert, animation, live action, drawn etc
  • any celebrities (name them)
  • any music (audio), artiste
  • layout, colours, font, size
  • narrator, comedy, tone of voice, male, female, child etc 
  • target audience for each advert

Now research in full your three adverts.   (Continue in Powerpoint or Word doc)
You may use all links from starter lesson last week.

If you choose Cadburys' only use one chocolate bar/ product as list is far too long!

Your are to find out and show:
  1. Images of the Product 
  2. Product Name
  3. What age group is the advert aimed at? 
  4. What gender is the advert aimed at? 
  5. When product originated? Year/ date. Is it still in the shops now?
  6. Which company makes the product?
  7. List all adverts for that product - include web links
  8. Which advertising company made the advert?
  9. Cost of the advert?
  10. Theme of advert
  11. Is there a Star or Celebrity endorsing the advert - why are they used? (Print, AV or audio).
  12. Audio in advert - why was it used? Diegetic/ Non Diegetic/ narration, soundtrack?
  13. Analyse advert - did each one work? If so why? How? What made them memorable in your opinion -use evidence to help you. 
  14. What lifestyle does the target audience have? 
  15.  What interests do you think the target audience has?

This task will take all of the lesson on Monday & Thursday (including three hours of homework to complete).

Remember all work must be presented to the highest standard.
