Unit 20 Advertising. LO1. 1.1. Lesson 2 & 3 (including completion for homework)
Now you are to create three A4 size mind-maps of three different products that have memorable UK adverts. (one audio, one print and one audio-visual).
On your mind maps list:
- title of advert, product
- the campaign narrative (what you think it is about/ storyline),
- media of advert, animation, live action, drawn etc
- any celebrities (name them)
- any music (audio), artiste
- layout, colours, font, size
- narrator, comedy, tone of voice, male, female, child etc
- target audience for each advert

Now research in full your three adverts. (Continue in Powerpoint or Word doc)

Your are to find out and show:
- Images of the Product
- Product Name
- What age group is the advert aimed at?
- What gender is the advert aimed at?
- When product originated? Year/ date. Is it still in the shops now?
- Which company makes the product?
- List all adverts for that product - include web links
- Which advertising company made the advert?
- Cost of the advert?
- Theme of advert
- Is there a Star or Celebrity endorsing the advert - why are they used? (Print, AV or audio).
- Audio in advert - why was it used? Diegetic/ Non Diegetic/ narration, soundtrack?
- Analyse advert - did each one work? If so why? How? What made them memorable in your opinion -use evidence to help you.
- What lifestyle does the target audience have?
- What interests do you think the target audience has?
